Designed for campers ages 6–10, this week-long experience introduces children to the essential foundations of visual art while immersing them in three exciting studio areas: pottery, painting, and printmaking.
Throughout the week, campers will rotate through SCCA’s dedicated art studios, where they will learn the basics of each medium while developing creativity, problem-solving skills, and confidence in their artistic voice. Guided by supportive artists, students will explore the fundamental elements of art, such as line, shape, color, texture, and form, while experimenting with a variety of tools, materials, and techniques.
In the pottery studio, campers will discover the tactile joy of working with clay as they learn foundational hand building techniques. They will shape, sculpt, and decorate their own ceramic creations while learning about form, texture, and structure. In the drawing/painting studio, students will create vibrant works of art using a range of mediums and surfaces. In the printmaking studio, campers will explore the different printmaking methods and its exciting processes like layering, and patternmaking to produce bold prints and unique designs.
Studio Fundamentals Art Camp is designed to nurture curiosity and imagination in a space that values independence, exploration, and creative expression. Campers will buildfoundational art skills, gain experience working with multiple artistic mediums, and create a collection of original artwork to take home. Most importantly, they will leave with a deeper appreciation for the creative process and the confidence to continue exploring art in their own unique way.
*General Registration ends June 6th, 2026.
