Camp Volunteers & Scholarships

We are so excited to announce our SUMMER CAMPS 2023!

Featuring our award-winning camps: Visual Arts, Theater, Music & S.T.E.A.M!

Whenever you ask someone about their Summer Camp experience, regardless of their age, the response is the same – Camps create wonderful memories. Summer Camps at Suffolk Center for Cultural Art allows for experiential learning and exploration, using the arts as a conduit for real-world learning. Through our partnership with Arts for Learning, we are offering four creative Summer Camps at Suffolk Center!

Become a Camp Counselor!

Suffolk Center Summer Camp Volunteers primarily serve as classroom aides and are responsible for helping to ensure that campers have a positive and safe camp experience. Work is completed under the direction of Classroom Instructors and the Education Manager. Camp volunteers must be aged 15 by June 1, 2023 and must be able to commit to a week-long camp (Monday-Friday, 8:30am – 3:00pm).

Should you have any questions, please contact Rick Byrd, Suffolk Center Creative Director, at 757-923-0003, ext. 107.

Scholarships Available

The Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts Student Scholarship will be available to students who live in and attend school in Suffolk, either public, private or home school. To be eligible for an educational scholarship for classes, lessons and/or workshops offered at the Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts (SCCA), students must be entering kindergarten through twelfth grade in the academic school year.

A selection committee of SCCA board members will choose the recipients, and all decisions will be final. The scholarship funds will be paid directly to the SCCA for the awarded class, lessons or workshop. Any unused funds will revert to the Student Scholarship Fund.

Eligible artistic areas which the applicants may choose to pursue include, but are not limited to, visual and performing arts such as children’s chorus, dance, movement, art, theater, music, voice classes or workshops and/or camps.

For current educational opportunities at the Center, please view a current class brochure available at the Center and at various locations throughout the community or the following webpages:
