Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts contributes to making Suffolk, VA a vibrant place where people can discover, experience, and celebrate the visual and performing arts. From our arts education programs to outstanding activities, exhibitions, and events at the Suffolk Center, your contribution supports both our local economy and our community’s spirit.

There are many ways to support the Suffolk Center – when you take a class, buy tickets to a performance, host an event, buy a gift at Jester’s Gift Shop or just tell a friend about all the great things going on at the Center, you are making a difference.

From our opening in 2006 until now it is our members who have made it possible for thousands of people to enjoy top-rated performances and experience creative expression in many forms.

Membership is YOUR way of making sure that children have a place to watch in wide-eyed amazement as the magic of a favorite story unfolds onstage; of bringing national and regional performing artists to the Suffolk Center’s stage. It’s YOUR way of allowing children and adults to explore their own creative expression through classes and workshops. It’s YOUR way of positively impacting our community through the arts.

Because the SCCA Foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, members and donors may enjoy the benefit of tax deductions to the extent permitted by law. Most of us would like to think we’ve made a difference as we’ve gone through life.  It is important to leave a legacy, something good that will continue after our lifetime.

There is an act of generosity that can transform lives forever.  For many people it is the most satisfying, and exciting, donation they’ll ever make.

It is a charitable gift in their will.

The Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts has established the  Legacy Society to recognize those who have left a bequest to the Center in their estate plans.   This extraordinary group of people have the vision to ensure this vibrant arts venue will be available for generations to come.

The arts are good for business. Our arts education program is fostering a more creative and innovative workforce. Our facility provides cultural amenities that create vibrancy for those who live and work here, while inviting others to Suffolk. Dozens of businesses in Tidewater understand the signifiance of arts and culture to the workforce, local economy, and budding business community. The arts really are good for business. If your company wants to invest in our mission, contact Susan Lawrence, Executive Director, today at 757-923-0003.

When a person becomes engaged with the arts, the experience leaves a lasting mark—in the form of confidence, discipline, creativity and skills to succeed in life. Our generous donors have the opportunity to leave their lasting mark where it all happens, by purchasing the naming rights to a piece of the Center.

When you purchase a Naming Opportunity, you let all of our visitors know that you, your loved one or your business value and support the positive impact of the arts on our community. As a token of the lasting value that your gift will have in the lives of your neighbors, a permanent plaque with your chosen inscription will be placed in the Center.
