Designed for campers ages 11–15, this immersive experience offers a unique opportunity to explore the dynamic worlds of pottery, painting, and printmaking within a supportive and inspiring studio environment.
Throughout the week, campers will rotate through SCCA’s specialized studios, gaining foundational skills and practical techniques in each medium. In the pottery studio, they’llexperience the tactile joy of working with clay, learning hand-building methods and, when appropriate, introductory wheel-throwing techniques. In the drawing/painting studio, campers will experiment with color, composition, and a variety of materials, building confidence in their personal artistic voice. In the printmaking studio, they’ll explore processes such as relief printing and screen-printing, discovering the excitement of repetition, layering, and design.
What sets this camp apart is its emphasis on exploration and individuality. Campers are encouraged to take creative risks, make choices about their projects, and develop ideas that reflect their own interests and perspectives. Instructors provide guidance and demonstrations while fostering an environment that values independence, curiosity, and creative problem-solving. Whether a camper is new to art or already passionate about making, they will be supported at their own pace and challenged to grow.
In addition to technical skill-building, the camp promotes collaboration and community. Campers will have opportunities to share their work, give and receive feedback, and learn from one another in a respectful and inclusive setting. By the end of the week, each participant will have created a diverse body of work and gained a deeper understanding of multiple artistic processes.
*General Registration ends June 6th, 2026.
