Class Description:  In this 6-week class you will learn the basics of how to write poetry styles from all over the world. We will explore the Japanese haiku,  the Indonesian pantoum and even the Shakespearean sonnet to name a few. We will dissect what makes these poetry styles great and the writers who made them famous.  Please bring a journal or notebook and a writing instrument to class.

Craft and Sip – Adult Crafting with a Social Twist

Welcome to CRAFT and Sip – a crafting party with like-minded individuals where you can kick back, relax, craft,
and take home a piece of craft, worthy of a place in your home!
Each Paint and Sip Class will be held the SECOND TUESDAY of each month.
The party will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm!

Making Mosaics
A mosaic is a pattern or image made of small regular or irregular pieces of colored stone, glass or ceramic, held in place by plaster/mortar, and covering a surface. Mosaics are often used as floor and wall decoration, and were particularly popular in the Ancient Roman world.

Class Detail: In order to sign up for pottery open studio you MUST be registered for this 2021 Winter session. Every student is allows 3 hours for open studio, you pay $25 per day (3 hours) or $185 for the entire 8 weeks for 3 hours per open studio.

Class Sessions

Learn the art of glass blowing with one of  Virginia’s most respected glass craftsmen.  Spend one hour creating your very own glass-blown piece of artwork. You will be able to work with a professional glass artist. Neil Duman shows his love for art through his flowing designs of colorful glass. These symmetrical works portray visions of beauty and relaxation that will catch the eye as light projects through them.  Children ages 10+ must have a parent or guardian with them during the duration of the class.

Class Detail: With the holidays around the corner everyone wants to snack on desserts! This workshop will teach you the many designs you can make with icing and the basic tips to learn how to layer, fill, cover, and decorate your tasty pastries. Cake decorating is one of the sugar arts that uses icing or frosting and other edible decorative elements to make plain cakes more visually interesting. Alternatively, cakes can be molded and sculpted to resemble three-dimensional persons, places and things. You will be learning all the fundamentals of baking and decorating baked goods. Decorating can consist of regular sugar or whipped icing or become more complex.
