Exhibition Summary

Brittany Johnson is a scratchboard artist from Virginia Beach. She hold a BFA from Virgina Commonwealth University (VCU) and a signature master membership from the International Society of Scratchboard Artist. Since the age of 15, Johnson has been enamored with all types of art mediums ranging from acrylic paint and Prismacolor markers but settled on the scratchboard medium after creating a few scratchboard portraits in 2011. She began the scratchboard technique with paper and stippling with a classic scratchboard stylus. In 2018, she decided to solely create artwork in the scratchboard medium. Johnson continues to improve her skills with a range of tools such as microblading tattoo needles, microfiber brushes and xacto knives. She depicts scenes of nature with vibrant metallics and paint in addition to the meticulous detailed textures in the composition.

This will include free entry, hors d’oeuvres, cash bar and a chance to meet and greet with the featured artist Brittany Johnson.

Art of Wine Dinner, Friday, April 10, 2026, 6:00pm-8:00pm

Gallery Lounge, 1st floor

This will include wine parings, chef-curated four-course dinner, and a wonderful discussion with the featured artist Brittany Johnson. The wine is matched to four of Johnson’s featured pieces, the courses are then curated by a chef to complement the selections- both the wine and artwork- then, the complete meal is presented to you amongst the artwork.

Art will also be on sale and a portion of the proceeds will go to support our mission of creating access to the arts.

First Event – Opening Reception with free entry, hors d’oeuvres, and a cash bar. Artwork will be available for purchase.
Second Event – Art of Wine Dinner (Food and Wine Pairing with the artwork)
This will include wine parings, four-course dinner and a wonderful discussion with the featured artist. Artwork will be available for purchase.
$60 per person ticket, with dinner and wine pairings included. Please include dietary restrictions during dinner reservations. Gratuity not included.
