THEME: Transcending Traditions
As the year draws to a close, the Suffolk Centers ask artists to define traditions and legacy through the visual arts. This special exhibition will be in one gallery will featuring artists’ definition of traditions and what it means to leave a legacy. Many traditions are a communal practice that makes us feel part of a community and gives us a sense of home. When we teach these traditions to our loved ones, we are leaving a legacy. As the next generations carry these traditions, how will they look in the future? How will these traditions transcend into a brighter future for those preserving traditions that may be lost if not practiced? The artwork in our galleries will illustrate traditions we keep at home and those that will carry on through future generations.
