Rowena Federico Finn: Crowd Control | TowneBank Gallery
On View: January 15 – February 14, 2026
Summary:
Featuring Finn’s first sculptural installation, Crowd Control invites close viewing while reflecting on privacy, individuality, and belonging in contemporary society. The installation is composed of Capiz shells, each carrying a single fingerprint accented with 24kt gold leaf. From a distance the work reads as unified. Up close, each print reveals its own presence, suggesting how identity is shaped, valued, and shared.
Rowena Federico Finn is a Filipino-American multidisciplinary artist in Hampton Roads. She is active in the region’s arts community as an instructor at the Governor’s School for the Arts, the Chrysler Museum of Art, and the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art. Finn also serves as President of the Virginia Coalition of Visual Artists.
Chris Jeanguenat: Flora, Fauna & Fables
On view: January 15 – February 12, 2026
Summary:
A collection of paintings rooted in storytelling, nature, and memory. These works draw from childhood moments and imagined worlds, inviting viewers to step into scenes that feel personal, familiar, and quietly adventurous. The gallery installation extends the experience with forest and literature-inspired design elements that reflect the artist’s visual language.
Chris Jeanguenat is a visual artist based in Suffolk, Virginia, known for earthy gothic and botanical scenes presented in both her paintings and custom frames. Her work follows a young, misfit girl exploring the world on her own terms, with the intention of encouraging young girls to be brave, curious, and unboxed.
