Design a Superhero Coloring Card!

In honor of Hospital Appreciation Week a second collaboration was forged between Suffolk Tourism, The Plaid Turnip and Suffolk Center. The goal is to provide the community with an interactive art project so they can show their appreciation for all the work being done to keep them safe and healthy. On May 13 a special Thank You Superhero Coloring Card was featured in the Superheroes of Western Tidewater supplement running in Suffolk News Herald newspapers across Suffolk, Smithfield, Franklin and Windsor. Folks young and old can use crayons, pencils or markers to design their very own Superhero Coloring Card to give as a Thank You to Hospital workers, First Responders, Postman, Delivery Drivers, or Grocery Store Workers!

The Superhero Coloring Card features a Teddy Bear Thank You and LOVE Letter coloring book style images. Artwork shared with #CreativeJoyProject, will be featured in a community Virtual Art Gallery Exhibit and shared through Suffolk Center’s social media.

Ed Beardsley, owner of The Plaid Turnip restaurant, is showing his appreciation by offering a FREE cupcake when folks post a photo of their Superhero Coloring Card artwork with #CreativeJoyProject to their Facebook or Instagram between May 13 – May 31, 2020. A drawing will select one lucky winner to receive a Family 4-pack Dinner To Go, a $40 value!  Drawing will be held on Monday, June 1, 2020.
