Vocal Production for the Solo Singer

Eights – Week Class

Class Description:  The focus of this class will be on developing functional vocal production for the aspiring Pop/Broadway performer. We will spend a portion of each class developing vocal and musicianship skills as a group, building upon those skills throughout the duration of the class session. Each participant will have the opportunity to work individually with the instructor under the observation of the other participants. The benefit of experiencing how other singers respond to instruction gives insight into our own vocal challenges.

Each student must come prepared to rehearse an age-appropriate song and to be coached by the instructor with the goal of performing it at the end of the session. A performance will be our end goal as we pursue free, functional vocal production.  Come and grow as a vocalist in a supportive and nurturing environment.  Students in this class will need to bring 2 copies of the proposed solo music (not the lead sheet) – one for the singer and one for the instructor; an accompaniment track for the desired piece and a singer’s mask or shield if desired.
