Whenever you ask someone about their Summer Camp experience, regardless of their age, the response is the same – Camps create wonderful memories.
Summer Camps at Suffolk Center for Cultural Art allows for experiential learning and exploration, using the arts as a conduit for real-world learning.
SUMMER CAMPS 2025:
DIVING INTO COMMUNITY ART
Registrations will open March 3rd, 2025.
Every year, SCCA offers a summer camp program with the goal of enriching campers’ knowledge and appreciation of the arts. This summer, we want to encourage participants to use their time and creativity to discover ways in which they can enrich our community. Community Art is the method of using art to identify, support and meet community needs.
We have partnered with organizations in Downtown Suffolk to identify approachable community needs that can be addressed through art projects. Students will learn valuable art skills while making an impact in our community for a fun, interactive, meaningful and collaborative summer camp experience.
Examples of community art include (but are not limited to) murals, birdhouses for gardens, decoration of municipal structures, and more.
Even though students will be creating art for the community, all planned activities will take place at SCCA. Some camps will host a “End of Camp presentation” to display student’s work.
Every camp day will start with a 30-min yoga session so campers can start their days with a clear mind and boosted energy.
SCCA will also be providing small snacks twice each day.
Summer camps will be offered for ages 7 – 14. We will run 2 camps simultaneously for campers ages 7 through 10, and 11 through 14.
Summer Camps will run June 23 – 27, and August 4 – 8 (Monday through Friday from 8:30 am until 3:30pm).
