Class Description:  Students will learn how to illustrate the face, from the front view and side view.  There will also be techniques to learn in drawing from observation as well as references from their imagination.  This is a class about understanding and observing the nature of portraiture and representation.  Students will also have discussions about their ideas about what they’ve learned.  They will also get to imagine and create a portrait of a fictional person and present their creation on the final day of class.

It is also a class for understanding character design and world-building.    They will get to present their creation by the end of the class.  Students will need the following supplies and materials:  pencils, pens, erasers, regular paper, and Bristol board paper (at least 8×11).  Other types of inking/coloring media are not required but are highly encouraged.
