Class Description: Students will learn the basic techniques of using chalk pastel and conte pencils. They will learn to capture the various angles and expressions of the side-view profile as well as the front view. They will learn to draw through observation as well as practicing on each other as brief models. Recommended materials: Prisma Color – Nu Pastel (set of 24), Conte pencil – lack, Conte pencil – sepia, Strathmore – Drawing Paper (mixed media.) A 16 x 20 (minimum size) plastic art portfolio/folder is recommended to store work.
