Plein Air Information Meeting

In preparation for the Plein Air Event on May 18th, an information meeting will be held on May 11th from 11AM – 12:30 at the Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts in the O’Connor Suite on the first floor.
Suffolk artists Barbara Harris and Sandy Waters will be on hand to introduce painters to the concept of “Plein Air” painting and discuss with painters what they will need to bring. This event is free and open to the public.
Plein Air painting is about leaving the studio and painting and drawing in the outdoors. The practice dates back centuries but was made into an art form by the French impressionists.
The event on May 18th is open to all artists. Participants will bring their own paints, easel, and canvases. Artists gather at the Suffolk Center from 8:00-8:30 a.m. for coffee and sign in and then they will disperse to begin painting. Registration will be available at the information meeting, the fee is $25.00.
