Class Description:  New artists and those who want to learn more about how to use the color wheel to mix vibrant to muted colors for a more exciting piece of artwork will get step-by-step instructions during this class. We will also experiment with the limited Zom Palette to create a painting during this session.   Students will need the following supplies and materials:  Paint Colors: Burnt Umber, Cadmium Red Light, Alizarin Crimson, Lemon Yellow, Cadmium Yellow, Yellow Ochre, French Ultramarine, Manganese (blue), Titanium White, Ivory Black, Di oxazine Purple (optional)

Suggested text: Mix Your Own Oil Colors: An Artist’s Guide to Successful Color Mixing, by Jeremy Galton, Walter Foster Artist’s Library Series; available on Amazon

Other Materials: Color Wheel, Paint palette, Palette knife, Brushes (size 6 and 8 rounds; size 6 and 8 flats) Larger brushes optional, 2 8×10 canvases or canvas boards, pre-primed, Apron, Paper Towels, Gamsol or Turpinoid in a safe container with lid (for oils only), Container for water (Acrylics only)
