If you have taken the Basic Digital Photography Course and want to build on your skills, then this six-week class is for you! Come learn a more in-depth look into the world of photography. In this class we need to have an understanding and working knowledge of: f/stop, shutter speed, ISO, and manually taking images. Items to be covered more extensively are: flash photography, composition, night shooting, posing, using the shutter to blur action in your image, filters, basic computer editing, macro photography, lens filters and other ideas you may have and need more knowledge of to make your images even better.

Class Detail: You have a digital camera, but some of the functions have you stumped! Well, don’t miss those once in a lifetime images. Here we will explore the basics of taking pictures and learn which methods and techniques make for the best photos. Some areas we will cover are: camera body, f-stop, lenses, shutter speed, composition, posing, and flash photography.

Class Detail: Participants will learn the basics of flash photography: guide number, bounce, diffuse, multiple units rather, manual versus auto, as well as practical applications of flash photography. (Geared toward students who have taken the basic course.)

Class Detail: Students will have the opportunity to experience hand building and also wheel throwing. Parents are able to guide and help their child with the variety clay techniques. This class is designed for homeschoolers as it’s in the mornings during school hours. One parent is free to come alongside their child; parents do not need to purchase a separate ticket.

Class Detail: Express yourself through the art of Oil Painting. Instructor Robert LeMasters opens this class to all levels of experience and talent. Experienced artists will strengthen their painting skills while new artists will learn a faster and easier way to paint. Techniques the class will explore include: composition, glazing, hatching, drawing, and more!

In this one-day workshop, you will use hand dyed silk chiffon scarves and various dyed wools and silk fibers to create a beautiful and soft scarf. You will learn concepts of wet felting and nuno felting while creating your work. Suggested items to bring are an apron and dishwashing gloves if your hands are sensitive to hot water and dish soap. Materials fee of $20 to be paid to instructor.

SIMPLY POTTERY I

Eight-week class

Class Detail: This is an intermediate and advanced class with emphasis on the making of sets – cups, mugs, bowls, canisters, plates, etc.   Beginners will be restricted to learning the procedure of throwing. Wheel workers are welcome to the class as well.

Class Detail: Artist Daniel Becerra will help you in the beginning stages of learning the essentials of painting. This class will focus on learning how to paint a still-life object that is placed in the room for the students to see. All materials are provided. This class is for anyone who wants to try something new and test out their art skills.

In this one-day workshop, you will create painting-like images from wool and other fibers like silks, bamboo and Angelina. You will learn concepts of wet felting and ideas of how you can embellish your work after it dries. Many colors of fibers will be used to help create these fun, fast, small wool paintings. Suggested items to bring are an apron and dishwashing gloves if your hands are sensitive to hot water and dish soap. Materials fee of $10 to be paid instructor.
