Class Detail:Popping is a theatrical style of street dance that comes from the west coast California and was inspired from the art form known as Robotting in the mid to late 70s. The focus of Popping is a balance of body and muscle control, free range of motion, dancing and illustrating to the music.

Class Detail: In this class, the students will explore music from each decade starting from the 1920’s and ending with the 2000’s. We will explore what drove people to make the music that became so iconic to their generation and what sparked that creativity. The students will learn to find their own spark and compose their own music either based on one of the styles of the decades that is covered or something completely out of the box and unique. Making music that tells the story of each person. Come join us! Ages 10-16.

Class Detail: Regardless of your skill level or age, we are all creative. Your child hides within them the need for an outlet of expression, Creativity through the arts is a healthy alternative to build self-esteem and confidence. Now being introduced by Suffolk Cultural Center, are delightful young adult art classes. Each session will offer a new and hands on approach to interesting painting projects incorporating mixed media, coupled with inspiration resulting in authentic self-expression while creating artwork. Through this positive and fear-free approach to creativity young minds will feel nurtured and safe to enjoy the thrill of freely expressing yourself while feeling empowered to create with kindness and encouragement. No previous art experience required

Class Detail: This is a fun and enlightening class where we explore the art of acrylic painting with out the use of brushes.  The goal in this class is to complete 2 pieces on a suggested size canvas.  The pieces created will incorporate several acrylic techniques that do not require brushes to complete. The results are expressionism created through an abstract composition with personal detail.

Materials needed: Canvas 2 – 9×12 or 11×14 or Watercolor paper, Paints (basic 8-10 colors)

Class Detail: Tai Chi is a beginner level class that will provide mind-body exercise that improves flexibility and muscle toning.  It is great for all activity levels, even those with physical challenges.  Tai chi is an internal Chinese martial art practiced for its defense training, its health benefits and meditation.
