The Suffolk Division of Tourism wants to give you the fright of your life as they present a series of classic horror films at the Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts. On Friday, October 16, 2020, join us for “Carrie,” the 1976 movie that became a critical and commercial success and is often listed as one of the greatest horror films ever made. The show begins at 8pm and admission is $3 per person; no children under 17 will be permitted without a parent or guardian. For more information, please contact the Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts box office at 757.923.2900.

Carrie White is a shy and unpopular 16-year-old, who lives with her fanatically religious and abusive mother, and is often ostracized by her peers. Suddenly, she is invited to the high school senior prom by popular Tommy Ross. At first, she believes her life is on the up with help from Tommy, but when the happiest moment of her life is ruined by bullies who play a cruel and humiliating prank on her, Carrie unleashes a horrific revenge, using her newly discovered telekinetic powers.

The cast includes Sissy Spacek, Piper Laurie, John Travolta, Amy Irving, and Betty Buckley. The film is rated R and has a running time of 98 minutes. No children under 17 will be permitted.
